Nitrox Calculator

Nitrox Calculator is a simple to use, clean style application to calculate diving gases. Main purpose is to use it with filling station to calculate best ways of getting to the wanted mix. Everything is done on the device, internet connection is not needed.

 

Features includes:

 

  • Nitrox blending ( partial pressure or continuous blending )

  • Existing mix can be anything between 21 - 50% O2

  • Topping with air or any Nitrox mix up to 50%

  • Blending instructions including Bleed down

  • Calculation of MOD, EAD and Best Mix

  • Supports imperial and metric units
     

Blend Nitrox - page

On Blend Nitrox page you will need to fill in every input field to get instructions of who to get your target mix.

 

First thing to enter is your current tank pressure and mix ( Air = 21 % ). Tank size or even if you have a double tanks doesn't matter. Maximum mix ( current and target ) is 50% which should be high enough :)

 

The next thing is to define what you want. Once everything is filled in, the calculation is automatically done. You can change the parameters in any order and everything will be instantly recalculated.

 

On Blend Nitrox page you will need to fill in every input field to get instructions of who to get your target mix.

"How to get there"-section will give you information what to do. You can choose topping gas between 21 and 50% while default is 21%.

 

Blending instructions are given both with partial pressure ( inserting pure 100% oxygen and topping to target pressure ) and continuous blending. 

 

With an extra feature found in "Settings" you can limit Nitrox topping to given pressure ( ex. 200 bar ). When limit is set the calculation will asume topping after the limit to be with 21%. Information of the limit is also printed to the instructions.

Nitrox Calculator is also equipped with safety information. You can enter gas in use, planned depth and wanted maximum partial pressure of oxygen (ppO2) and you will get Maximum Operating Depth (MOD), Equal Air Depth (EAD) and also the Best Mix proposal.

 

 

Settings - page

Settings page has only 3 options:

 

  • You can choose between metric and imperial units. Default is imperial

  • When default target pressure is set, it will be prefilled into Blend Nitrox page

  • Restrict nx (Nitrox) topping pressure affects to the blend instructions. When left blank topping is calculated to the target pressure

 

Settings are stored on the device, no need for internet connection.
